Our Services The Center was created as a dental home for children, not only to fix and to save their teeth, but also to see children on an on-going basis for preventive care and cleanings. We encourage home hygiene, provide education on brushing and flossing, and give information about nutrition changes which can affect dental health. Compliance with appointments is encouraged so that children will receive the dental care they require. Our goal is to make a lasting difference in a child’s dental health and overall development. We offer many preventive and restorative dental services, including xrays and cleanings. In addition to providing stainless steel crowns to save baby teeth, we can provide fillings for teeth when there are cavities. If required, the Center can extract most teeth and make referrals for teeth that need to be extracted by oral surgery. Our staff can also make referrals to other dental offices for braces and orthodontics, and for children who need to have their wisdom teeth removed. Referrals are available to fix teeth with procedures that are not available at our office. If needed, sedation appointments for young children as well as referrals for general anesthesia can be given. Services are provided to children and youth up to their 19th birthday. Our primary service area includes the City of Charlottesville and the Counties of Albemarle, Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa, and Nelson. We see children who are covered by Medicaid, FAMIS, and FAMIS Plus. This includes the state-provided insurance coverage of Virginia Premier, Optima, Anthem Healthkeepers, and Sentara. |
